Unitrends Footwear Company has been producing, importing, and distributing quality footwear for men, women, and children since 1979. Unitrends was started in Glen Head, NY, by Fernando Alonso- a native of Spain. When Fernando moved to NY, he had a difficult time finding high quality European shoes for his children. It didn't take him too long thereafter to begin to research a way to introduce the U.S. market to the same high quality shoes that he grew up wearing. With little knowledge of the footwear business and industry, he partnered with one company that was willing to give him the opportunity to explore this new market with their brand. Unitrends took it's first steps with one brand, one salesman, and one dream..40 years later, Unitrends has grown to be a leading wholesale footwear source with over 40 foreign manufacturing partners and over 2,500 U.S. retail doors. Unitrends is currently a family owned company being operated by Fernando & his two sons Gabriel and Nicolas.
